Northamptonshire event guide
The best time to book a facial before a wedding or special event.
A good pre-event plan is less about chasing a dramatic last-minute transformation and more about choosing a treatment your skin can comfortably accommodate.
The right treatment at the right time.
Whether you are planning a Northamptonshire wedding, party, photographs or an important work event, tell Lucy the date first. She can then work backwards from your deadline and your skin’s history.
A treatment you know well can often sit closer to an event than something advanced or completely new. No facial should be booked on the assumption that redness, dryness or sensitivity are impossible.
Six to eight weeks before.
This is a useful point to discuss your main priority and try an unfamiliar treatment. It gives you time to learn how your skin responds rather than discovering that during event week.
If you are considering microneedling , a chemical peel or a multi-step advanced facial, start the conversation early. These treatments can involve temporary redness or sensitivity and require proper aftercare.
Two to four weeks before.
By now, avoid making a chain of spontaneous changes. If an advanced appointment forms part of your plan, leave the recovery margin Lucy recommends for your skin. Do not combine it with new home peels, scrubs or strong active products simply because the event is approaching.
This is also a sensible point to consider areas beyond the face. If you want care for the back or shoulders, see the current body treatments and confirm timing before booking.
Seven to fourteen days before.
Familiar, lower-downtime treatments are usually easier to plan in this window. Depending on your skin, that might mean:
- A Hydro Facial for water-based cleansing and hydration.
- Dermaplaning for surface smoothness and removal of fine vellus hair.
- Nano infusion for a needle-free, hydrated finish.
- A jelly mask as a cooling, hydrating addition to a suitable facial.
Your best option may be the simplest one. More steps do not automatically produce a better event-day result.
The final 48 hours.
Keep your routine familiar. Avoid trying a strong new product, picking at blemishes or booking an aggressive first-time treatment. If you have a last-minute concern, contact Lucy rather than attempting to fix it with several active ingredients.
On the day, clean, comfortable skin and a routine you trust are more valuable than an overloaded treatment plan.

Pre-event facial FAQs.
How long before my wedding should I have a facial?
It depends on the treatment and whether you have had it before. A familiar, hydration-focused facial can usually be planned closer to the event than microneedling or a peel. Tell Lucy your date before booking so she can recommend a sensible buffer.
Can I have my first facial the week of my wedding?
A first-time treatment introduces uncertainty because your skin has not shown how it responds. If the event is close, avoid experimenting with aggressive or unfamiliar treatments and ask about a gentle option.
Which facial gives an instant glow?
Dermaplaning, a Hydro Facial and nano infusion are often chosen for a fresh-looking finish with relatively little downtime. No treatment can guarantee a particular result, and suitability still matters.
Should I book microneedling just before an event?
Microneedling can cause temporary redness, warmth, dryness or swelling, so it needs more planning than a gentle hydration facial. It should not be treated as a last-minute appointment.
